Abrams tanks for training Ukrainian forces arrive in Germany – media
US Abrams tanks needed for training Ukrainian soldiers have arrived in Germany a little earlier than planned.
Ukrinform reports this with reference to Sky News.
“A US official said the 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks needed for the training arrived at the port in the German city of Bremerhaven last weekend, and they will get to the base by early this coming week,” the report says.
It is noted that the training will begin in two to three weeks.
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin earlier stated Ukrainian forces’ training on how to use Abrams tanks is expected to last about 10 weeks.
As reported by Ukrinform, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said he expects that a batch of US Abrams tanks will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in early autumn.
