Russian troops shell Kherson region, leaving dead, injured
On May 12, Russian troops once again began shelling the city of Kherson and settlements in the region, and it is known that two women were killed in the Kakhovka district.
That's according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.
"Under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings on the violation of the laws and customs of war has been launched," the statement said.
According to the investigation, on May 12, 2023, Russian troops once again began shelling the city of Kherson and settlements in the region. In the Kakhovka district, two women were killed by an enemy shell that hit a private house. Another resident was hospitalized with injuries. A woman was also wounded in the shelling of Darivka community.
In the regional center, the Russian army hit the roof of a multi-storey building. No casualties have been identified so far. The information is being clarified.
Houses, outbuildings, a village council building, and a car were damaged.
As Ukrinform reported, the Russian army fired 80 times at Kherson region over the previous day, May 11, killing one person and injuring four others.
As a result of the enemy shelling on May 11, gymnasium No. 20 in Kherson was almost destroyed.
