Russian armed aggression affects over 1,454 children in Ukraine

Since Russia’s full-scale armed aggression, 481 children have been killed and 973 more injured in Ukraine.

“As of the morning of May 15, 2023, more than 1,454 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 481 children were killed and more than 973 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office wrote on Telegram.

It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 459, Kharkiv region - 277, Kyiv region - 128, Kherson region - 97, Zaporizhzhia region – 90, Mykolaiv region - 89, Chernihiv region - 70, Dnipropetrovsk region – 69, and Luhansk region – 66.

On May 14, a 17-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of Kurakhove, Donetsk region. On the same day, a 6-year-old girl was injured in the shelling of Prymorske, Zaporizhzhia region.

As reported by Ukrinform, three people were injured as the Russian troops attacked Kurakhove, Donetsk region, on May 14.

In the shelling of Prymorske village near Zaporizhzhia, six people were injured. One man died in hospital.
