France ready to train Ukrainian war pilots - Macron

France and several other European countries are ready to start training Ukrainian military pilots soon.

French President Emmanuel Macron said this in an interview with TF1, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Together with a few other European states that are also ready for this, we have opened the door to pilot training," Macron said.

According to him, this issue is currently being "discussed with the Americans". "Training can already start now," France’s president said.

He added that France remains determined to help Ukraine repel Russian aggression. "There is a lot at stake now, as the success of the counteroffensive will be critical to the ability to achieve lasting peace," Macron stressed.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Germany on May 14 right after he came to France where he met with President Macron.
