Syrskyi: Counteroffensive operations ongoing in some directions near Bakhmut
Using the principle of active defense, Ukrainian troops carry out counteroffensive operations in some directions near Bakhmut.
"Wagner fighters got into Bakhmut like rats into a mousetrap. Using the principle of active defense, we resort to counteroffensive operations in some directions near Bakhmut. The enemy has more resources, but we are destroying their plans," Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who visited the commanders and soldiers on the front edge of Bakhmut direction, posted on Telegram.
Syrskyi added that he and the commanders of units and subdivisions discussed and made the necessary decisions for the continuation of the defense operation. All possible scenarios of the development of events were considered.
The Commander of the Ground Forces also awarded the Ukrainian defenders and presented them with gifts. He thanked everyone for their heroism, in particular the service members of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, 5th Separate Assault Brigade, 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, and other brigades for their feats on the battlefield.
As reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians continue to focus their main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka directions. Bakhmut and Maryinka remain at the epicenter of military operations.
