Italy to train Ukrainian soldiers
Italy will train Ukrainian recruits at schools and military installations in Italy, as well as take part in EU-Ukraine training programmes in Brussels, Poland and Germany.
Italy’s Defence Minister Guido Crosetto stated this on Thursday, Ukrinform reports with reference to ANSA.
According to Crosetto, Italian defence authorities have considered taking part in the European initiative to train Ukrainian soldiers "with staff personnel to be sent to commands in Brussels, Poland and Germany, as well as offering specialised training modules to be carried out, however, at schools and military installations on our national territory.”
As Ukrinform by reported, EU High Representative Josep Borrell said on April 21 that more than 16,000 Ukrainian military personnel had already undergone training within the EU training mission. He also announced the delivery of ammunition and missiles worth EUR 600 million to Ukraine.
