International Criminal Court team gathering evidence of war crimes committed by Russia in Kherson

The team of the International Criminal Court (ICC), led by Brenda Hollis and accompanied by prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor and the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, inspected locations in Kherson where war crimes committed by Russians were documented.

The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform

"During the visit, ICC experts visited approximately 10 sites where evidence of war crimes against the civilian population was documented. These include torture and killings in illegal detention centers, indiscriminate shelling of areas with a high concentration of people, medical facilities, and residential buildings," the statement reads.

The evidence collected during the visit can be extremely important for proving international crimes in Ukraine. "Everyone guilty of these crimes must be held accountable, including high-ranking officials," the General Prosecutor's Office stated.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, last week Ukraine was visited by Catherine De Bolle, the Executive Director of Europol.
