Russian armed aggression affects over 1,462 children in Ukraine

A total of 482 children have been killed and over 980 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of May 20, 2023, over 1,462 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 482 children were killed and over 980 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (459), Kharkiv region (277), Kyiv region (128), Kherson region (102), Zaporizhzhia region (91), Mykolaiv region (89), Chernihiv region (70), Dnipropetrovsk region (70), and Luhansk region (66).

On May 19, 2023, a 14-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region’s village of Tavriiske.
