Border guards neutralize Russian assault group in Bakhmut
Mortar operators with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in conjunction with aerial reconnaissance, hit the positions of Russian troops in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, eliminating a group of invaders as they were intending to go on the offensive.
The State Border Guard Service’s press office reported the news on Facebook, as seen by Ukrinform.
"After tracking the location of the enemy cluster, having waited enough to allow a certain number of occupiers to gather in the ruins, our fighters engaged them using mortars. The enemy lost an entire assault group: seven KIAs and four WIAs. This is how their attack plan failed," the agency noted.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the units are advancing across the flanks in the suburbs of Bakhmut and are actually approaching the point where they will tactically encircle the war-torn town.
