In Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military downed a Russian Mi-24 helicopter with an Igla MANPADS.
The 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, forces and means of the royal brigade eliminated an enemy assault helicopter Mi-24. The enemy's ‘Crocodile’ [assault helicopter] was attempting to inflict fire damage on the village of New York, Donetsk region, when it was stopped with a well-aimed shot from an Igla MANPADS fired by an anti-aircraft gunner of the 24th anti-aircraft missile artillery division of 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo,” the report says.
After being hit, the enemy helicopter fell on the territory controlled by the enemy, near temporarily captured Horlivka.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian artillerymen destroyed a column of Russian military equipment, which numbered about 10 units, in Donetsk region.
