Russian troops shelled settlements in four districts of the Kharkiv region yesterday, 22 May.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, posted this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Yesterday, the enemy massively fired at the settlements of the Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Izyum and Chuhuiv districts with cannon artillery, MLRS and rocket weapons," he said.

According to Sinegubov, at least 14 private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged by the shelling of Kupyansk with multiple rocket launchers, and fires broke out. Women aged 76 and 53 and a 35-year-old man were injured. All were hospitalised.

According to the head of the RMA, the enemy fired two S-300 missiles near the village of Vyazove in the Kharkiv district. Both hit in an open area in a field. There were no casualties or damage.

According to Syniehubov, demining works are ongoing in the Kharkiv region. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 9.8 hectares of territory and defused 59 explosive devices.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on 19 May, a 65-year-old resident of Petropavlivka was killed in the Kupyansk district as a result of shelling.
