National Guard shoots down two Russian Su-25s near Melitopol

In the Zaporizhzhia region, near the temporarily occupied Melitopol, National Guard soldiers shot down two Russian Su-25 attack aircraft with portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

That's according to the National Guard on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

As noted, on May 25, Russian troops tried to attack the positions of the Defense Forces using a pair of Su-25s.

At that time, the National Guard "Zaporizhzhia Avenger" and his colleague - were on combat duty. They identified the enemy aircraft and practiced firing on air targets with man-portable air defense systems.

"As a result of combat operations, the first Su-25 aircraft was completely destroyed, its pilot managed to eject over the temporarily occupied territory, and the second aircraft was shot down by the well-known "Zaporizhzhia Avenger"," the National Guard told.

It has been established that after the fighter's shot, the second Su-25 was seriously damaged and made an emergency landing. At the end of the runway, Melitopol residents saw a black column of smoke, followed by dull explosions.

As reported by Ukrinform, in Donetsk region, a Ukrainian soldier shot down a Russian Mi-24 helicopter with an Igla MANPADS.
