In Ukraine, 174,000 km2 potentially polluted by explosive objects
In Ukraine, about 174,000 square kilometers are considered potentially polluted by explosive devices as a result of Russian aggression.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Approximately 174,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, including maritime areas, are considered potentially contaminated with explosive objects as a result of Russia's large-scale invasion," the statement said.
The Ministry of Defence clarified that all territories where active hostilities have been or are being conducted, which are under temporary occupation and have been attacked by air and missile strikes, are considered potentially contaminated.
It is noted that the area of the de-occupied territories under survey is 45,000 square kilometers, of which 17,000 square kilometers are agricultural land.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine will cooperate with NATO countries on humanitarian demining.
