Ukraine wants Australian Hawkei armored vehicles - defense minister
The Ministry of Defense Oleksii Reznikov has appealed to Australia to provide the nation with Hawkei armored vehicles and called on Sydney to join the international "tank coalition" in support of Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrinform referring to Reznikov’s tweet.
The minister recalled that Australia had already provided significant support to the country since Russia’s full-scale invasion, being “the largest contributor to Ukraine outside of NATO.”
"Your Bushmasters have been incredible in real combat operations. But our fight for global freedom is not over yet and we still need your support," Reznikov wrote.
The head of the Ministry of Defense encouraged Australia to join the international tank coalition, and in addition to tanks, "we would be honoured to receive the Australian Hawkeis."
Reznikov noted that these mobility vehicles "could provide invaluable to our troops during the counteroffensive."
It should be recalled that Reznikov noted Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense system ahead of next winter.
