Kyiv region’s defense capability continues to develop – Niebytov

The measures related to the development of the Kyiv region’s defense capability were launched on April 1, 2022 and continue today.

The relevant statement was made by Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kyiv region Andrii Niebytov in an interview with Gazeta.ua, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The measures related to the development of our defense capability were launched on April 1, 2023 i.e. immediately as our territories were de-occupied, and they continue now. Many fortification structures were created in order to protect our region. General Naiev constantly visits this sector and says it is heavily protected,” Niebytov told.

In his words, the powerful defense for Ukraine’s northern borders was established in the Kyiv region.

“Cameras can see for several kilometers with a thermal imaging effect. This is a great help for our military. In cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we are taking measures to prevent sabotage activities at the border. This happens systematically in each district. Separately, we conduct training on the rapid establishment of checkpoints and the evacuation of the population,” Niebytov noted.

According to Niebytov, special police teams are equipped differently than they were before February 2022.

Niebytov confirmed preparations for a potential new attack by Russia or its satellite, Belarus, from the north. In his opinion, it is necessary to be prepared for the worst-case scenario.
