Ukraine hands over to Canada list of needed military equipment

Canada has received a list of military equipment from Ukraine that it needs to counter Russia successfully.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov said this in a video address to the participants of Canada's largest defense exhibition CANSEC, which is taking place in Ottawa, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine has handed over a list of necessary Canadian goods and technologies to the Government of Canada," Reznikov said.

According to him, Ukraine seeks to establish partnerships with Canada and its defense companies so that the equipment "is available to us when we need it and in the required volume." "Ukraine is now fulfilling the task for which NATO was created: Ukraine is Europe's shield in the east against the Russian threat. We are destroying the military force directed against European values and freedom," the minister emphasized.

He added that "the decisions we make today will influence the development of European and global security for years to come." "The fewer Russian weapons there are, the fewer Russian influences there are," Reznikov said.

As Ukrinform reported, since the beginning of last year, Canada has already allocated about $1 billion in various military aid to Ukraine.
