More than 2 thousand groups check shelters across country - SES
More than two thousand groups, including rescuers and police officers, are currently working to inspect shelters across Ukraine.
Viktor Vitovetsky, Director of the Department for Organizing Civil Protection Measures at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said this during the telethon "United News", answering the question in which regions the situation with shelters is the worst, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to him, it is too early to analyze anything now, as the situation is changing almost every hour.
"There are more than two thousand groups comprising the authorities, the SES and the National Police, and all information is received, in particular, by the SES. We are analyzing it. On behalf of the government, we have to analyze this information by the 10th of the month and finally come up with some indicators that will allow us to take further appropriate measures and propose to local authorities to take measures within their powers, of course, to bring the shelter fund into proper condition," Vitovetsky said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, as of June 5, rescuers, police and representatives of local executive authorities have already checked 50,195 shelters in Ukraine, of which 32% were closed or unusable.
