Russians shell eight settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, woman killed

The Russian forces shelled three border villages of Chernihiv region with mortars and artillery, killing one person and damaging private houses.

The Operational Command North reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

In particular, from 10:50 to 11:03, five hits, presumably from a 120mm mortar, were recorded in Krasnyi Khutir area. From 13:30 to 13:50, there were four hits, presumably from barrel artillery, in the area of Karpovychi.

From 13:40 to 14:35, the invaders hit Yanzhulivka area 13 times, presumably using an 82mm mortar. A local woman was killed, and two private houses were damaged in the enemy shelling.

The command also reported on a number of enemy attacks on the border area of Sumy region.

Thus, between 10:45 and 10:49, the Russian forces fired rockets from helicopters at the village of Hirky; five explosions were recorded. Between11:40 and 11:49, four more hits from 120mm mortars were recorded around the same settlement.

Between 10:47 and 10:49, the invaders launched two attacks, using an 82mm in the area of Kruzhok village. The enemy attacked Sopych (between 12:00 and 12:46, 26 explosions were recorded) and Khodine (between 13:38 and 13:55, five explosions were recorded) using 120mm mortars.

The Russian troops shelled Seredyna-Buda with various types of weapons: between 13:10 and 13:25, there were eight hits, probably from 120mm mortars.  The invaders also used grenade launchers - 23 explosions were recorded. Between 14:00 and 14:15, eight more mortar hits (also 120mm mortars) were recorded in the city.

As a result of the enemy shelling of Seredyna-Buda, apartment blocks, private residential buildings and commercial premises were damaged.

Information about losses among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure in the border area of Sumy region is being clarified.
