President: Ukraine gathers new evidence of Russians’ deliberate crime to blow up Kakhovka HPP
Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service have gathered new evidence of how the Russians blew up the dam and other structures of the Kakhovka HPP.
This is an absolutely deliberate and premeditated crime of the Russian Federation, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his video address, Ukrinform reports.
“Regarding Kakhovka. Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine have gathered new evidence of how Russian terrorists blew up the dam and other structures of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. It was an absolutely deliberate, premeditated crime. In the occupied territory, at a plant that was under the full control of the occupiers. And, importantly, last year we warned the world that Russia was preparing such a terrorist attack,” the President said, based on the intelligence and the Security Service reports.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine warned the world that Russia was preparing such a terrorist act when it received the first confirmed information about the mining of the hydroelectric power plant last year.
As reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam, causing the flooding of parts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and, at the same time, the drying up of the Kakhovka reservoir.
