Danilov to Guterres: Many more children killed by Russia than noted in UN report

The number of Ukrainian children Russia has already killed in Ukraine is much higher than the 136 that UN chief Antonio Guterres recently reported.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, stated this on the air of the national telethon, reports Ukrinform.

"The figures announced by Mr. Guterres are not true. When it comes to our children who were killed at the behest of Putin, this is definitely not the number he named. Unfortunately, it is much more. About 500 children were murdered by these monsters, and Mr. Guterres should be aware of that," said Danilov.

He also commented on the statement that Ukrainians allegedly killed their own children: "If Putin had not invaded the territory of Ukraine, not a single person would have been hurt. This is exactly what we need to talk about. It must be said that on February 24, the aggressor state unleashed the active phase of what they had started in 2014."

As reported, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, in his annual report called Russia guilty of murdering 136 children in Ukraine in 2022, adding the Russian army to the list of global offenders.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, 489 children were killed in Ukraine as a result of the Russian full-scale invasion, and another 1,026 were injured.
