Russia’s FSB opens criminal case against Wagner Group’s Prigozhin over armed rebellion call

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case targeting the leader of the notorious Wagner Group over public calls for armed rebellion.

That’s according to the state-run news agency TASS, Ukrinform reports.

The statements by the founder of the Wagner Group  Yevgeny Prigozhin, became the basis for launching a criminal case over the call for armed rebellion, Russia’s National Anti-Terrorist Committee reported.

As reported earlier, Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the Russian army’s regular troops, subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, launched a missile strike hitting a Wagner base. Russia’s defense ministry has denied the allegations.
