Situation in northern operational zone stable, under control - Nayev

The Commander of Ukraine’s Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, said the situation in the northern operational zone remains stable and under control.

That’s according to the Military Media Center, Ukrinform reports.

"As for the commentaries regarding Wagner Group’s possible participation in the attack on our territory from the Republic of Belarus, I’d like to assure everyone that the situation in the northern operational zone remains stable and under our control," said Nayev.

According to the commander, the Ukrainian forces continue to build up defense fortifications. All services, from reconnaissance to engineering troops, are extensively engaged.

"At the moment, there is no build-up of enemy equipment or manpower. The state border is under reliable protection 24/7. If it happens so that the enemy attempts to cross in, it will be nothing but suicide for them. Our soldiers are ready to give a worthy rebuff to anyone who dares cross the state border up in arms," Nayev stressed.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the former head of the UK General Staff, General Richard Dunnatt, believes Ukraine should beware a possible attack on Kyiv by the Wagner forces led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, who fled to Belarus after the mutiny attempt.
