Nayev: Northern border reinforced with personnel, equipment due to events around ZNPP
In connection with the events around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, a decision was made to strengthen Ukraine’s northern border with personnel and military equipment.
"In connection with the recent events around the Zaporizhzhia NPP, a decision was made to strengthen the northern border of our state with both personnel and military equipment," Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev posted on Telegram.
He emphasized that work in this direction has not stopped since the enemy was defeated in the north and continues around the clock. In particular, according to him, anti-tank barriers are built, minefields are placed, and the entire defense line is strengthened.
"Our intelligence agents work quite efficiently. We have studied the enemy well and have a clear grasp of the situation regarding their plans. Our soldiers have undergone combat training and are ready to destroy anyone who encroaches on our territory," Nayev added.
As reported, the Russians occupied the ZNPP on March 4, 2022.
On June 22, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported Russia's plans to carry out a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that Ukraine was preparing for any scenario of developments around the ZNPP.
