Intelligence believes that Prigozhin to visit Belarus, but not base there

Representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov suggests that the leader of the "Wagner" PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin will visit Belarus, but will not use this country for permanent basing of the "Wagner".

The relevant statement was made by Andriy Yusov on the air of the national telethon "United News", Ukrinform reports.

"As for Prigozhin in Belarus, it is obvious that he will be there. We can talk about transferring his legal address, using Belarus as a certain logistics hub or for transferring to other destinations and other continents. I think it's too early to rule out Africa. But it's too early to say that all the personnel of the "Wagner" PMC, forces and means have been relocated to Belarus. To a greater extent, these are information activities that should show compliance with the agreements that were announced due to recent events, marches and riots," said the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

When asked why the leader of the "Wagner" PMC chose Belarus, he added: "There are not so many options left. For example, Germany or France are unlikely to agree, as are many other countries with democratic governments. The "Wagner" PMC will probably not agree to North Korea. Therefore, there are not many options left."

As Ukrinform reported, on June 23, the leader of the "Wagner" PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin announced a demarche against the Russian military leadership, in particular against Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

As a result of the offensive, the "Wagner" PMC column reached the Lipetsk region of Russia, 420 kilometers from Moscow.

Alexander Lukashenko held talks with Prigozhin, after which the latter stated that the group's fighters were returning to their field camps.

Later, the FSB Investigative Department closed the criminal case of armed rebellion.

On June 26, in an address to Russians, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the mercenaries of the "Wagner" PMC to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry or other law enforcement agencies, return to their families, or "go to Belarus."
