Zaporizhzhia NPP operates in normal mode - Head of Nikopol Regional State Administration
As of the morning of July 5, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is operating normally.
Yevhen Yevtushenko, the head of the Nikopol Regional State Administration, said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"At the moment, ZNPP is operating normally. No significant movements of occupants' manpower and equipment have been recorded," he wrote.
Nikopol is located on the bank of the Dnipro River, with Zaporizhzhia NPP on the opposite bank.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of 08:00 on July 5, the water level in the cooling pond of the Zaporizhzhia NPP has not changed. It is currently 16.56 meters.
The water level in the TPP canal, from which the ZNPP pond is fed if necessary, is 11.15 meters.
Recently, the water level in the canal has not been falling significantly, and its indicators no longer depend on the Kakhovka reservoir.
ZNPP power units have been out of operation since September 2012, so there has been no active evaporation of water from the cooling pond since then.
