MoD: Invaders begin to leave positions in some sections in east
The Ukrainian troops are hitting the enemy in the east so powerfully that Russian units have begun to leave their positions in some sections.
As Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar said during the United News telethon, "the stakes have been raised so much that the enemy has started using barrage detachments and tries to ensure the stability of the troops with weapons aimed at their backs."
The tensest situation in the east right now is in Lyman and Bakhmut directions. Fierce battles are ongoing in Bakhmut direction. The enemy is firmly holding the occupied positions.
Maliar also reported on the situation with the advance of Ukrainian troops.
"As for the advance on the flanks – it’s too early to say something before gaining a foothold on positions because the situation can change every hour. Today is just such a day – the situation was changing dynamically. That is why there were battles on the northern flank around Bakhmut, and there are no significant advances as of the end of the day," she said and added that the enemy was trapped in Bakhmut city thanks to our soldiers. The Russians can't move around freely, can't leave the city, Maliar explained.
As reported, during the day, the Russian army launched 48 airstrikes and 54 MLRS attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and populated settlements.
