Yermak: There are no guarantees that none of Russian missiles will hit neighboring countries
There are no guarantees that no Russian missiles will accidentally hit neighboring countries during terrorist attacks on Ukraine.
The relevant statement was made by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Last night Russia launched a missile strike on a residential building in Lviv, which is “another tragedy and terrorist attack”.
“Russia makes missiles, uses Western components, circumvents sanctions. It can only be stopped by force,” Yermak stressed.
In his words, Ukraine needs more anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense systems than it has now. It is necessary to have mechanisms for punishing states for the re-export of important components used to produce Russian missiles, as well as strengthen countermeasures and close loopholes for such re-exports. Relevant proposals are listed in document No. 12 of the Yermak-McFaul Expert Group.
“And, of course, security guarantees and Ukraine as part of NATO are real signals that Putin is afraid of. The invitation of our country to NATO with the strengthening of defense capabilities will allow us to defeat the Russians. Membership in NATO will guarantee Europe’s security for many years to come,” Yermak noted.
Without this, the Russian regime, if it maintains its integrity, will be able to continue its air terror.
“There are no guarantees that none of Russian missiles will accidentally hit neighboring countries during the terror of Ukraine. NATO is a guarantee of Putin’s fear. They are cowards, as proved by Finland. It is necessary to finally stop all this,” Yermak emphasized.
According to him, the historic decision regarding Ukraine’s accession to NATO “will change the history of Europe and preserve the world order by strengthening the entire security architecture”.
