Reznikov, Austin discuss Ukraine’s counteroffensive, preparations for new Ramstein format meeting

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III discussed the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and preparations for a new Ramstein format meeting in a telephone conversation.

“Had a productive phone conversation with my colleague, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III,” Reznikov posted on Twitter.

As noted, the parties discussed the current situation on the front lines and further steps of the counteroffensive operation, as well as other urgent issues.

“We synchronized our watches before the next meeting of the UDCG in the Ramstein format, which will take place soon after the Vilnius NATO Summit,” the minister added.

Moreover, according to him, new projects related to supplying various types of ammunition were touched upon in the conversation with the Pentagon chief.

“Stay tuned for the good news…” the Ukrainian defense minister stressed.

On Thursday, the Pentagon confirmed that they were considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with cluster munitions.
