Ukraine will receive Western jets, but it will take time - Linkevicius

Former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius has predicted that Ukraine will receive Western fighter jets, as it previously received other weapons, but it will take some time.

He said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The examples we just discussed in the case of weapons show that it's possible: HIMARS on go, Patriots on go. Everything is here now, and jets will come. I hope not after a counteroffensive, maybe earlier, but this is too much, and the cost is too much. So we should talk about that clearly. And fight but not give up," Linkevicius said.

He said there were still difficulties with the long-term training of pilots, and the logistics chain was also important. However, another problem is people who want to preserve communication channels with Russia, the diplomat said. According to him, "we need time to change the mindset."
