AFU repel Russian troops' attempt to break through in Bakhmut area

Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi showed how the soldiers of the 225th separate assault battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian counterattack near the village of Berkhivka, Bakhmut community, Donetsk region.

Oleksandr Syrskyi published a video of the Ukrainian military's work on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Offensive actions of the 225th separate assault battalion in the Berkhivka direction. The Russians pulled up reserves and attempted a counterattack. But our soldiers professionally defeated the enemy and took up positions," the statement reads.

"We are moving forward," added Syrskyi.

As Ukrinform reported, the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Kovalev said on the air of the telethon "United News" that the Ukrainian defense forces continue offensive actions on the Melitopol, Berdiansk and Bakhmut directions.
