The Netherlands plans to begin training Ukrainian pilots on Western F-16 fighter jets in August and will help strengthen Ukraine's air defense system and artillery.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"A meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Specific things. We agreed to start pilot training in August. We are getting closer to a decision on modern aircraft for Ukraine," he said.
Zelensky also said an agreement had been reached on the specific contribution of the Netherlands to strengthening Ukrainian air defenses and artillery.
"Thank you for your support on the path to NATO - both in terms of the invitation and in terms of security guarantees on the path, particularly on a bilateral basis. Thank you, the Netherlands," Zelensky said.
