War update: 28 combat engagements occur in five directions

Russian troops are focusing the main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. Twenty-eight military clashes have occurred there over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched 15 strikes on enemy personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters, including one strike on a Russian air defense missile system. Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit one enemy personnel cluster, 20 artillery systems in firing position, two air defense missile systems and two electronic warfare systems.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue the counteroffensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, are gaining foothold within the re-captured frontiers and carrying out counterbattery activities.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched 11 missile strikes and 49 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 48 times. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported; residential houses, household and administrative buildings, and civilian cars were damaged.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russian troops launched an air strike near the Sumy region’s Shpyl. The enemy attacked over 20 settlements in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions with artillery and mortars.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian warriors are firmly holding defense. Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions to the south of the Kharkiv region’s Masiutivka. The enemy launched an air strike near Kyslivka, as well as artillery and mortars strikes on the Kharkiv region’s Kamianka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kupiansk and Kyslivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions to the east of the Donetsk region’s Vesele. The enemy launched air strikes near the Luhansk region’s Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Siversk, as well as artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Nevske and Bilohorivka, and the Donetsk region’s Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka and Ivanivske. The enemy tried to regain their lost positions near Kurdiumivka but had no success. Russian invaders launched air strikes near the Donetsk region’s Pivnichne and New York. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched an air strike near the town of Avdiivka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia’s onslaught near Marinka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Shakhtarske direction, in the northern part of the Donetsk region’s Staromaiorske, Russians made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost positions. The enemy launched air strikes near the Donetsk region’s Novomykhailivka, Vremivka, Blahodatne and Makarivka. The enemy shelling affected Paraskoviivka, Vuhledar, Novomykhailivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne and Velyka Novosilka.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing. The enemy launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka and Stepove. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.
