194 children need to be evacuated from Vovchansk community in Kharkiv region – administration

194 children need to be evacuated from the border community of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region due to constant shelling, a decision on mandatory evacuation is being prepared.

"There are 194 children in the settlements of Vovchansk community, where the security situation is difficult. Currently, a decision on mandatory evacuation is being considered," the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration told Ukrinform.

According to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the regional administration, said that during the nationwide United News telethon that the Russian forces had intensified shelling of the north of Kharkiv region.

In particular, the de-occupied border town of Vovchansk and nearby villages are under threat around the clock. Despite this, people refuse to leave for safer areas of the region.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of Monday, July 17, Russian troops shelled Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, injuring one person.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Vovchansk community in September 2022. The Russians are shelling the community's settlements from their territory.
