Ukrainian military testing mine scanning drones received from Denmark
As part of the aid package from Denmark, the State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received modern drones for technical inspection of territories before demining.
Ukraine's First Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Pavliuk said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
With their scanners, drones detect magnetic anomalies in the ground, water and on its surface. They are able to "see" any metal objects at a depth of up to three meters. Modern technical means enable sappers to remotely scan territories and identify places where explosive objects are located, as well as other objects that pose a risk to people's lives, Pavliuk said.
According to him, the training of crews consisting of two people (the operator and the pilot) also took place in Denmark. Military personnel learned the technical components of the system and underwent practical training using drones in the field.
Currently, specialists and received UAVs are already successfully working to detect explosive objects, Pavliuk said.
