Ukraine intercepts all Shahed drones on approaches to Kyiv

Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed all kamikaze drones Russia had launched at the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight Wednesday.

The UAVs were downed on the approaches to the city, Ukrinform reports citing the Kyiv City Military Administration.

"A difficult night of air attacks for all of Ukraine. South, Odesa – especially so. But the enemy did not forget about Kyiv either. They once again attacked the capital with Shaheds. To no avail," said Serhii Popko, head of the KCMA.

According to the official, air defense units detected and destroyed all enemy drones before they could reach the airspace over the city.

"Preliminarily, there are no casualties or damage, but the reports are still being verified," Popko added.

As reported, an air raid alert went off in the capital and a number of regions amid a threat of a Russian drone attack.
