After night attack, Zelensky orders to strengthen protection of port infrastructure
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a conference call on Russian strikes in the Odesa and Zhytomyr regions and emphasized that the Russians deliberately targeted the infrastructure used to support the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
He reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"At the morning conference call, I heard information about the nighttime Russian strikes on the Odesa, Zhytomyr and other regions. Russian terrorists quite deliberately targeted the infrastructure of the grain deal, and every Russian missile is a strike not only against Ukraine, but also against everyone in the world who wants a normal and safe life," Zelensky said.
He said that Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko informed him about the consequences of the strikes.
Also, according to the President, there were reports by Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk.
"I have instructed the military to strengthen the protection of people and port infrastructure, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify contacts with partners to increase pressure on the terrorist state and continue normal exports of Ukrainian grain," Zelensky emphasized.
As reported, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy fired 16 Kalibr cruise missiles, eight X-22 cruise missiles, six Oniks cruise missiles, an X-59 guided missile and 32 Shahed-136/13 attack UAVs at Ukraine at night. Our air defense system shot down 13 Kalibr cruise missiles, an X-59 guided missile and 23 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Strikes by X-22 and Oniks missiles were aimed at the infrastructure of the Odesa region.
