Over 20 new Ukrainian drone types already in service - Defense Minister

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have already accepted for service more than 20 new Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense, Oleksii Reznikov, who spoke at a press conference hosted by the Ukraine Media Center Ukrinform.

"We gathered 82 exclusively Ukrainian manufacturers. They volunteered, and we have already adopted more than 20 new drones, which today are very successfully destroying the orcs and their military hardware," said the minister

He added that on his ministry’s initiative, a corresponding resolution was adopted to streamline the deployment and all other issues related to domestically-manufactured drones. Reznikov added that in the past, it would have taken nearly two years to put a new drone into service. Now it's three weeks "if you do everything right and guarantee quality."

In addition, the minister considers another breakthrough a resolution, "which introduced the possibility of laying down 25 percent for the development of this industry.” The third breakthrough, he believes, is the resolution that removed all fees for importing components for manufacturing drones."

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Songs of Drones campaign, which started in Lithuania on July 19 and will last until August 24, aims to raise EUR 300,000 for the purchase of 500 drones by Ukraine's Independence Day.
