War update: 27 combat engagements occur in five directions

Twenty-seven military clashes have occurred in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In the past 24 hours, Russian occupiers have launched a missile attack on Ukraine’s territory, using 17 cruise missiles and two ballistic missiles. Ukraine’s air defense units downed nine enemy cruise missiles.

Additionally, Russian troops launched 26 air strikes and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 35 times. Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to residential houses, religious buildings and other civil infrastructure.

The threat of Russian missile and air strikes is persisting all over Ukraine, according to the General Staff.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged. No enemy offensive groupings were detected. Certain Belarusian units continue completing tasks within the areas bordering with Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russian troops are maintaining military presence. The enemy launched an air strike near the Sumy region’s Pavlivka. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian mortar and artillery strikes in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian warriors are firmly holding defense. Russians launched an air strike near the Kharkiv region’s Kucherivka, as well as artillery and mortar strikes on the Kharkiv region’s Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna and Kyslivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Torske. The enemy launched an air strike near the Serebrianske forestry, as well as artillery strikes on the Luhansk region’s Nevske and Bilohorivka; the Donetsk region’s Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, under extensive enemy artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and to the north-east of the Donetsk region’s Orikhovo-Vasylivka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Avdiivka direction, under extensive artillery fire and air strikes, Ukrainian warriors successfully repelled Russian attacks near Avdiivka and Nevelske. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue holding back Russia’s onslaught near the Krasnohorivka and Marinka. Over 10 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Shakhtarske direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Novomykhailivka and launched an air strike near the Donetsk region’s Blahodatne. Over 15 settlements were affected by Russian shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian occupiers are focusing efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing. The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost positions near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Pryiutne. Russians launched air strikes near the Zaporizhzhia region’s Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka; the Kherson region’s Antonivka.  Over 25 settlements were affected by Russian artillery strikes.

In the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue the counteroffensive and are gaining foothold within the re-captured frontiers, attacking the detected enemy targets with artillery, and conducting counterbattery measures.

Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched three strikes on enemy personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters. Ukrainian defenders destroyed four Russian reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ukraine’s missile and artillery units hit one Russian personnel, ammunition and military equipment cluster, five artillery systems in firing position, one command post, one air defense missile system, and one electronic warfare system.

According to the available data, Russian occupiers continue to rob civilians and steal grain from Ukrainian farmers. In the Zaporizhzhia  region’s Pryshyb, Russians are using diesel locomotives to take away a large number of freight cars loaded with different grain crops from a local agricultural enterprise.
