Russia launches 19 missiles of different types on purpose to inflict more destruction - Zelensky
During the missile attack overnight Sunday, July 23, Russia used 19 missiles of various types to make them difficult to shoot down and cause more damage.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine emphasized this in his address to the nation on Sunday, Ukrinform reports.
"The liquidation of the consequences of the attack of Russian terrorists on our Odesa has been going on all day today. Nineteen missiles of different types – absolutely specifically to make them more difficult to shoot down and to cause more destruction," Zelensky said.
He noted that one person was killed as a result of the Russian attack. Another 20 people were injured, including four children: 11, 12, and two 17-year-olds. All of them are currently receiving medical assistance.
In addition to human casualties, almost 50 buildings were damaged by the strike, 25 of which are architectural monuments.
"Historical center. World heritage, which was taken under UNESCO protection. The building of the Greek consulate was also damaged, and this is the second consular institution in Odesa affected by Russian terror. Just three days ago, another such attack damaged the Chinese consulate building. Obviously, all this is a global threat," the president added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, overnight Sunday, July 23, Russian troops launched a massive missile attack on Odesa. The invaders fired 19 missiles of various types.
The strike hit Odesa’s historic center, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. As a result of the attack, 25 architectural monuments were damaged, including the famous Transfiguration Cathedral.
As a result of the strike, one person died and 22 people were injured, including four children.
