War update: Ukraine destroys 14 enemy artillery units, four e-warfare systems
Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s missile and artillery units have hit 14 enemy artillery systems in firing positions, four electronic warfare systems, four command and control points, and a number of other important targets.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Last night, the Russian Federation struck Ukraine with Iranian-made one-way attack UAVs of the Shahed type. The reports on the consequences of the terrorist attack are currently being verified. Over the past day, the enemy has launched a missile attack, 75 airstrikes, and 68 attacks involving MLR systems on Ukraine’s military positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, civilian casualties were reported," the update reads.
Further missile and airstrikes targeting the entire territory of Ukraine remain highly likely, the General Staff warned.
More than 40 combat clashes took place in the past day.
On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the Sopych area of Sumy region, as well as mortar and artillery attacks on more than 25 settlements.
On the Kupiansk axis, the settlements of Topoli, Kamianka, Fiholivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, and Kislivka in Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Lyman direction, the settlements of Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region, were hit by Russian artillery.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy undertook unsuccessful offensive efforts north and west of Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, and Bila Hora, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine’s defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks under heavy fire from the enemy's aircraft and artillery. Over 10 settlements, including Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Nevelske, and Novobakhmutivka came under Russian artillery fire.
In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops. The enemy launched an airstrike near Krasnohorivka, also shelling 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Zoriane, Marinka, Pobieda, and Hostre in Donetsk region.
On the Shakhtarske axis, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the Blahodatne and Staromayorske districts, Donetsk region, and made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position east of Staromayorske. Over 15 settlements, including Vuhledar, Vodiane, Blahodatne, and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region were hit by Russian artillery.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops. A Russian airstrike targeted the Orikhiv district in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements, including Novodarivka, Bilohirya, Orihkiv, and Kamianske, were subjected to artillery fire.
In the Kherson direction, more than 10 settlements were hit by Russian artillery fire, including Sadove, Tokarivka, Kozatske, Antonivka, Mykhailivka, and the city of Kherson.
At the same time, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carry on with their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, entrenching at the regained positions and engaging in counter-battery fire.
"Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has carried out eight strikes on Russian manpower and equipment clusters, one on the command post, and another one targeting their anti-aircraft missile complex. Over the past 24 hours, missile and artillery forces have hit 14 artillery systems in firing positions, four e-warfare systems, four command and control points, a military equipment cluster, six anti-aircraft defense systems, three manpower clusters, an ammunition depot, and two more important enemy facilities," the General Staff concluded.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to the General Staff, since February 24, 2022, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have eliminated 246,690 Russian invaders.
