Ex-MP Serhii Slabenko killed in action in Ukraine
Serhii Slabenko, a former Verkhovna Rada Deputy of the 4th convocation, died fighting for Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"People's Deputy Serhiy Slabenko of the 4th parliamentary convocation perished in the battle for Ukraine's independence in Zaporizhzhia region," the report reads.
Slabenko was a lawmaker in 2002-2006, chairing the subcommittee on courts, the judiciary and judicial reform of the Committee on Legal Policy.
Subsequently, from 2006 to 2009, he worked as Deputy Chairman of the Attestation Chamber at the Volyn Bar Qualification and Disciplinary Commission, and in 2015-2020 he was deputy of the Volyn Regional Council, member of the permanent commission on the use of property co-owned by territorial communities in villages, towns, and cities.
The ex-MP is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
TRC Avers noted that Slabenko had been killed in action on August 4. He was 57 years old.
