Ukrainian taxi drivers in occupied areas being forced to obtain Russian passports until summer-end
In the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region, the Russians are forcing all local taxi drivers to obtain Russian passports and driver's licenses by September 1.
This was reported by the Center for National Resistance, Ukrinform saw.
"All drivers shall obtain an enemy country’s driver's license, and to this end, they also need to obtain that red junk ID. Otherwise, they are threatened with having their license revoked, while taxi service operators will be told to lay off such drivers," the report says.
It is noted that the enemy actually seeks to run an "inventory" of all vehicles and their owners in the captured areas. At the same time, drivers must produce a passport of a Russian citizen in order to pass any technical inspection of their vehicles.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the invaders are already offering money to residents of the temporarily captured territories of Ukraine for obtaining Russian passports. The Russians promise locals "housing certificates" for accommodation in various regions of the Russian Federation plus a bonus of 100,000 rubles for obtaining a passport.
