White Angels teams evacuate 65 children in Marinka area since year-start
In Donetsk region, the White Angels police unit, operating in the Marinka direction, evacuated 271 civilians, including 65 children, in the past seven months.
This was reported in the Donetsk Region Police Department’s press service, Ukrinform saw.
"Over the course of seven months, the White Angels group, operating in the Marinka direction, evacuated 271 people, including 65 children, provided aid to 42 wounded civilians, and delivered more than 28 tons of humanitarian goods to people living along the front line," the report says.
It is noted that the group works 24/7 to rescue civilians from the war zone. The team immediately arrives at the site of Russian strikes, even if blasts continue.
Most recently, the White Angels team helped an elderly resident of Novomykhailivka, the village suffering from daily shelling, make it out of the area alive. During the evacuation effort, Russians opened fire again, but thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of police officers, the pensioner was successfully transported taken to a safe location.
Another woman was persuaded to evacuate the dangerous area after an enemy strike decimated her home. However, some people remain in what’s left of their houses destroyed by Russian forces
As reported, Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine has been under constant Russian shelling as the enemy continues to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure facilities.
