Emergency and rescue operations completed in Pokrovsk
Emergency and rescue operations have been completed in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on Tuesday, August 8.
“Pokrovsk. At 16:40 on August 8, emergency and rescue works were completed in a five-story residential building that was damaged as a result of the shelling on August 7," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Telegram.
According to preliminary information, seven people, including one employee of the State Emergency Service, were killed and another 82 people were injured. Eight people were rescued by the State Emergency Service units.
A total of 122 tonnes of construction debris were removed from the scene.
Forty-six employees and 12 pieces of equipment of the State Emergency Service were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the attack.
As reported, on the evening of August 7, the Russian army fired Iskander missiles twice at the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, hitting a residential high-rise building, and then rescuers and law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene.
