Explosion at plant in Moscow region: number of victims exceeds fifty
The number of people injured in the explosion at the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant in Sergiev Posad, in the Moscow region, has risen to 52.
This was reported on Telegram channel of the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, according to Ukrinform.
It cites Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov and says that the number of people who sought medical care after the explosion in Sergiyev Posad has increased to 52.
Before that, Vorobyov had provided information on his Telegram channel about 43 victims with a detailed breakdown of the severity of their injuries: " Six people were in intensive care with burns and traumatic brain injury, another 22 people were taken to the trauma department. The rest of them had moderate shrapnel injuries.
It is also noted that five people may be under the rubble. The rubble is being dismantled.
As reported, on Wednesday, an explosion occurred on the territory of the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant in the Moscow region. According to preliminary official data, the explosion occurred in a rented warehouse of pyrotechnic products. All buildings and workshops of the plant were evacuated, and a nearby kindergarten was also evacuated.
