Four injured in 82 Russian shelling attacks on Zaporizhzhia region on Aug 9

Russian troops shelled Ukraine's southern Zaporizhzhia region 82 times on August 9, injuring a family in Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia regional governor Yurii Malashko said.

"A family was hurt in an attack on Huliaipole. Women aged 55 and 66 and men aged 39 and 68 were injured. They were promptly taken to a medical institution of the regional center," he wrote on Telegram.

In total, in the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 82 shelling attacks on 21 settlements in the region. Some 68 artillery shells were fired on Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Bilohiria, Chervone, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Plavni, Mali Shcherbaky, Piatykhatky, Lobkove and Kamianske. There were also four airstrikes on Orikhiv and Mala Tokmachka, four UAV attacks on Huliaipole, Malynivka, Olhivske and Novodarivka, four MLRS attacks on Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Olhivske and Levadne, and two missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Pidhirne.

There were 54 reports of citizens about the destruction of residential buildings, educational institutions and other social infrastructure.

Earlier reports said that three people had been killed and nine others injured in a Russian missile attack on Zaporizhzhia.
