Russian troops attack Ivano-Frankivsk region, killing a child

This morning, the enemy launched a missile attack on Ivano-Frankivsk region, western Ukraine.

"This morning, the enemy launched a missile attack on Prykarpattia. A civilian object was hit. There are casualties, including a child who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The doctors did everything possible, but, unfortunately, the child's life could not be saved. Condolences to the family!" Svitlana Onyshchuk, Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, posted on Telegram.

The victim of the missile strike was an 8-year-old boy, the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.

"According to the investigation data, around 10:00 on August 11, the Russian military fired air-launched ballistic missiles at the infrastructure of Ivano-Frankivsk region. A missile hit the territory of a private house in Kolomyia district, where a family with three children lived," the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

Information about other victims is being clarified.

"An outbuilding was partially destroyed by the blast wave and debris," the Prosecutor General's Office added.

As reported, on the morning of August 11, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of the launch of Kinzhal missiles by the Russians during a large-scale air alert. Explosions rang out in Kyiv city, where missile fragments fell on the territory of a children's hospital, as well as in Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions.
