Elderly woman killed as Russians attack Kharkiv region
A 73-year-old woman was killed as a result of shelling by the Russian military in Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"This morning, around 05:10, the enemy shelled the urban-type settlement of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kupiansk district. A residential building was damaged. A 73-year-old woman died. Emergency services are working at the scene," Syniehubov wrote.
According to him, the enemy fired artillery, mortars and other weapons at populated areas of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium, and Kupiansk districts in the past day. In particular, Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Veterynarne, Strelecha, Hatyshche, Vovchanski Khutory, Shyykivka, Cherneshchyna and other settlements came under enemy fire.
Residential buildings and farm buildings were damaged.
As reported by Ukrinform, mandatory evacuation of civilians from the settlements located directly near the front line in Kupiansk district in Kharkiv region is ongoing - 63 people have been evacuated.
