Over the past day, the defense forces decimated 174 occupiers in Bakhmut direction and more than 120 in Lyman–Kupyansk direction.
"In the East, all types of weapons are used intensively, however combat engagements took place in Bakhmut and Lyman–Kupyansk directions only once, being very active in Bakhmut direction. The enemy shelled our positions 635 times, carried out two air raids. In the course of the battle, a powerful repulse was given in response. Forty-seven occupiers were decimated, 127 were wounded, two enemy tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, an armored personnel carrier, a light armored artillery tractor, a Nona self-propelled mortar, a Pion self-propelled gun, a D-30 howitzer, and four ammunition depots were destroyed," Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News national telethon.
Informing about the situation in Lyman–Kupyansk direction, Cherevaty noted that the enemy actively used aviation here, carried out 17 air raids with the help of combat helicopters and attack aircraft.
"The enemy fired on our positions 612 times. We killed 27 occupiers and wounded 94 while repelling the attacks. We destroyed an enemy tank, an IFV, two guns, a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, four UAVs, as well as two ammunition depots and three dugouts," Cherevaty said.
He added that strikes launched by the defense forces and heavy losses suffered by the enemy make the occupiers conduct rotations and reinforce their positions.
