Sweden approves new military aid package for Ukraine
The Riksdag, Sweden's parliament, on Thursday voted in favor of sending Ukraine another military aid package worth more than SEK 3.2 billion (more than $290 million).
That's according to a press release posted on the website of the Swedish parliament.
The press release said that as part of the new aid package, Ukraine would receive spare parts and emergency supplies worth up to SEK 1.1 billion.
In addition, the package includes up to SEK 2.15 billion worth of ammunition and its components, mine-clearing equipment and transport vehicles.
The Riksdag also approved the sale of a limited number of Rb 99 (AMRAAM) missiles to the United States, which will later be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen the country's air defense system.
The decision means that Sweden's defense spending will be increased by SEK 545 million in 2023.
